The Pitreavie Group has gone from Fife’s largest packaging company to Scotland’s leading provider of packaging and industrial solutions thanks to the acquisition of a major industrial supplies company in Glasgow.
Originally established in 2010 by Directors, Joe Diamond and Gordon Delaney, the Pitreavie Group has grown rapidly through its ambitious acquisition strategy, taking control of Andersons Packaging and Sorba-Freeze chilled packaging solutions, both in Aberdeen, in the last 2 years.
The move now sees the group’s turnover increase to approximately £9million but, more importantly, provides the company with extensive geographic coverage to serve its growing Scottish client base as well as an unrivalled product range to maximise sales opportunities.
With its focus on providing customers with a comprehensive packaging solution, including its “stock and serve” service which enables companies to benefit from economies of scale and same day delivery service, the Pitreavie Group is delivering tangible benefits both in terms of costs and quality.
The group is also continuing its investment with new machinery to enhance the Sorba-Freeze product range, significant investment in IT and new systems as well as expanding its workforce to a team of 55 employees.
Internationalisation is also high on the agenda, with major distribution opportunities being explored in Northern Europe, America and Asia as well as partnerships with key manufacturing facilities in China.
Gordon Delaney, Sales Director of Pitreavie Group, said:
“We are committed to continuing our growth strategy in a steady and strategic manner to ensure its both sustainable and profitable with further acquisitions a distinct possibility. Our market position is now enabling us to target larger accounts with the strength and power to compete with any company.”
